1. For in passing negative judgment, one looks down upon the matter in hand with a superior and supercilious ( 高傲的; 輕蔑的 )air, without having gone into it thoroughly enough to understand its true nature, ie., its positive significance.

2. Age, in general, takes a milder view, whereas youth is always dissatisfied; this is because age beings with it maturity of judgment, which does not simply tolerate the bad along with the rest out of sheer lack of interest, but as learnt from the seriousness of life to look for the substance and enduring value of things.
3. And this is not so much equity as justice.
4. But to return to the true ideal, the Idea of reason itself, philosophy should help us to understand that the actual world is AS IT OUGHT TO BE (ie, to negate ...).
5.It shows us that the rational will, the concrete god is indeed all-powerful, and that this absolute power translates itself into reality.

2. the aim of philosophy is to recognise the content and reality of the divine idea, and to defend reality against its detractors.
