Carnap elaborated and extended Wittgenstein's idea on logical syntax in the Tractatus (3.25).
Thus in order to understand the Tractatus, one should not only study Frege, but also Carnap 's implementation of logical syntax.
Determination as negation. Otherwise you are in bad faith.

Cora Diamond : What nonsense might be
Cora Diamond : What nonsense might be
comment :
Carnap wanted to end metaphysics. But Wittgenstein wanted to end philosophy. Who is more radical?
Oswald Hanfling once commented to Elizabeth Anscombe that he found it strange that
Wittgenstein had continued to write in German throughout his life.
Anscombe; who must have assumed that Hanfling was English, replied that only someone who wasn’t able to read Wittgenstein in German could have made that remark.
In the tractatus, to throw away the ladder is to end philosophy.
